Flamenco Dance Classes. Fall*Winter 2012-2013

Class Descriptions. Fall-Winter 2012-2013
September 5TH - December 19TH.

Beginners.
Wednesdays 7:30 - 8:30PM
Will introduce you to the fundamental of the Flamenco Dance. This class will work on proper posture, basic footwork, turns, hands and arms including Castanets exercises (provided by the instructor). In this class you will begin to develop the muscle strength and skills necessary for Flamenco dance.
Choreography: "Sevillanas and Fandangos".
No prior dance experience required.

Technique for all level.
Mondays 7:00 - 8:00PM
This class is design for all levels. We won't follow any choreography in specific; we will focus on arms, hands, head and footwork coordination.

 

Advanced Beginners.
Mondays 8:15 - 9:30PM
Students will find more challenged footwork combinations, contratiempo, turns, clapping and manton exercises.
Choreography: "Sevillanas with Castanets, Tangos and Alegrias".
Knowledge of all four Sevillanas and some dancing with Castanets experience required.

Burn some calories, reduce stress, create a hobby and meet fun people while exploring the fundamental of the Flamenco Dance and learn about a new culture and way of life.


Classes & Dressing Codes
Wear comfortable clothe, Flamenco shoes, character shoes, or boots/shoes with a thick, wide heel are recommended.
Skirts are optional for beginners.

If for any reason you are late, please walk in quietly and join the class in the back.

As I get ready to go to England, I feel very privileged to go on this artisitc adventure. I'm happy to know that I'll be spending some time with my sister, see my old friends and learn something new from my tutor Lydia Bauman. Today I went to C C Lowell and bought come art supplies to bring with me!  Also I went to the library to borrow some books on mixed media and abstract art to bring with me. It will be so much fun, I can hardly wait.
